•Background of Sweatshops•
Sweatshops developed between 1830's and the 1850's. The jobs were created for people who needed a job to get products made at the lowest payment possible. These jobs attracted the poor if they were really desperate and needed any job.

Workers at various sweatshops have to work in bad conditions. Crowded working spaces, limited or no bathroom stops and shockingly, since women make up at least 90% of sweatshop worker population, they are told to take birth control pills in order to reduce the amount of maternity leaves and help produce more products for the company. Also, "Men and women alike are subjected to verbal, physical, and sexual abuse in factories from their managers and supervisors. They are sometimes trapped in the factory and forced to work overnight or across multiple shifts" says DoSomething.Org.
